Fabian Gluschke is an e-commerce expert through and through. He started out marketing movies on the Internet - until three years ago, when he decided to develop products that generate a particularly high search volume online. His choice fell on bed linen. Customer ratings revealed what was important to Germans: bed linen had to be cuddly, breathable, and wrinkle-free. His market analysis resulted in the founding of Sleepwise. The brand’s success has fully met his expectations. Since 2017, he has sold 120,000 products, most recently generating over 2 million euros in sales - 90 percent of which were on Amazon.

Fabian, why did you sell?

"We asked ourselves how we wanted to continue. The next step would have been expansion into other countries. We were faced with the question whether to make this really big now. For that, we would have had to invest and hire more employees. We did not really want to do that. With the sale, we realize access for Sleepwise to customers in all European countries and the USA."

Will you continue to support Sleepwise under its new roof?

"Yes, that is what we agreed. I will continue to help with product development. And of course, I am also curious about the launch of Sleepwise in other markets and on new channels. The decision to go with BBG was easy because we were offered two crucial factors: attractive conditions and the opportunity to benefit from international growth even after the sale. The BBG team simply has an extreme amount of experience and the necessary structure to take our brand to the next level."

What is next?

"I very much enjoy developing new brands and building something from scratch with a small team. The next project has already been started successfully."
